ROUND 17 / NOVEMBER 5-7, 2021 AUTODROMO INTERNACIONAL DO ALGARVE / PORTIMAO, PORTUGAL P64 MOTOGP I FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MYOWNRACE 21 FRANCO MORBIDELLI 17TH MOTOGP "Because of the speed that we put on the track this weekend, I was expec ng to have some more speed during the race," Morbidelli said. "Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. For sure, a er some laps I needed to slow down to pace myself and finish the race. But generally, I was hoping to have more speed and it didn't happen. We need to understand what happened, and we will figure it out before Valencia, I hope." 20 FABIO QUARTARARO DNF MOTOGP "I know exactly what happened during the crash," Quartararo said. "I was too late, and I crashed. But it was a nightmare of a race. When I was behind our rivals, it was impossible for us to overtake. I think that during today's race my pace was much be er than what I showed. In our strong areas on the track, we would recover a lot, but just in accelera on and speed we are too far behind. I think what helped me this season was that I started from the front row 14 mes. As soon as you are in a bad qualifying situa on like today, it gets difficult." Alex Marquez (73) and Jack Miller (43) re-ignited their Moto3 rivalry with an entertaining scrap that finally went the way of the Australian. Fabio Quartararo's (20) race was hampered by the speed of the two Ducatis in front of him. He'd eventually crash out for his first DNF of the year.
