Jon Barrich was run ning in second and being p ursued by Richi e Hovis. Barr ich made a m istake which gave Hovis the opport u nity to slide by and take over seco nd. Barr ich had yet another problem as Danny Tinsma n was moving up fast. Tin sman made his move in a corner by the fini sh and secured third p lace. H ovis was still in second when he fell o n one of the crash wall jum ps. He remounted and held on to second behind Lemmon s. T insm an improved as the ni gh t went on, and in the final mo to he had th e lead . H ovis had an average start and spe n t most of his time passing ri ders to manage second by the finish . Barr ich was right behind H ovis. A 3-1 tally earned Tinsman th e top tro phy over Hovis and Lemmons. Richard Ll oyd got the jump on th e second div isi on of 125ccJ un iors durin g their firs t moto. John Bush was in second wi th Mik e Hughes trying to mo ve by. Hughes found a p lace to pas s Bush, caught Ll oyd on the next lap and pa ssed him on a straight. Hughes now had first with Bush getting by Lloyd as well. Lloyd had a heck of a time with th ose two passing hi m, and close to th e end Aaro n Pi pes tried to do the same but slid ou t and fell. . Ll oyd was out to ma ke u p for that first moto when he was kn ocked out of th e first place position. H e was leading in th e second moto, but th ere was no stopping Mike Hughes w ho set Lloyd back to second place. Bush was in second early in the race till Hughes worked by h im. Bush took thir d.
