Haaker Sweeps Prescott EnduroCross
C
olton Haaker came back with
a vengeance in Arizona after
finishing second at the previous
GEICO AMA EnduroCross round
in Reno, Nevada. The Rock-
star Energy Husqvarna Factory
Racing Team rider won all three
feature races inside the Findlay
Toyota Center in Prescott Valley,
October 23, to extend his lead in
the championship. It was his third
win of the four rounds held so
far, and only two rounds remain
on the 2021 calendar, a double-
header in Denver, Colorado,
October 29-30.
In Arizona, RPM KTM's Coo-
per Abbott finished second over-
all with 4-3-2 moto scores and
GasGas-mounted Max Gerston
rounded out the podium with 3-7-
3 moto finishes.
FMF KTM's Trystan Hart, the
previous race winner and Haak-
er's closest rival in the champion-
ship, finished second in the first
moto but ended his night prema-
turely with a dislocated thumb in
the second moto, resulting in a
13th overall finish.
Haaker got the jump on the
field to start the first race fol-
lowed by Gerston and Hart.
Hart got past Gerston before
the end of the first lap to go after
Haaker. The two front runners
stayed close for the whole moto,
but Hart was not able to make
any serious challenges for the
lead.
Gerston was a strong third.
Abbott had to make up for a
bad start and finished fourth, and
SRT Off-Road Yamaha rider Cory
Graffunder rounded out the top
five.
In the second moto, where
the start is inverted from the first
moto finish, Will Riordan (KTM)
took the holeshot ahead of
Spenser Wilton (GasGas).
