ed Bull KTM's Jeffery Her-
lings and Tom Vialle domi-
nated the MXGP of Trentino, the
first of three straight races to
be held at the Trentino facility in
Pietramurata, Italy, October 24.
Race two (MXGP of Pietramurata)
will be held mid-week (Wednes-
day, October 27) and race three
(MXGP of Garda) next weekend
(October 31).
Herlings won both MXGP
motos at the MXGP of Trentino to
extend his championship points
lead to 24 points over Kawasaki's
Romain Febvre. The Dutchman,
Herlings, had to work hard for
the wins. He chased a stubborn
Jeremy Seewer for half the moto
before finding a way around the
Yamaha rider to take the lead.
Herlings led the remaining 10
laps to take the win over See-
wer and Febvre, who held third
the whole way, while defending
champ Tim Gajser ran fourth for
all but the first lap.
Glenn Coldenhoff rounded out
the top five.
Jorge Prado was running fifth
before crashing and ending up
eighth.
Herlings had to work much
harder in moto two. He started
off around 15th but slowly worked
his way to the front. He was
already in eighth after lap one
and on lap 14 (of 20), Herlings
got around Febvre for second
and then just had one rider in
front of him, fellow Dutchman
Glenn Coldenhoff, who put up a
good fight. With three laps to go,
Herlings got around the Yamaha
rider and went on to take the
hard-earned win and overall vic-
tory, the 97th of his career.
