VOLUME 58 ISSUE 42 OCTOBER 19, 2021 P99 S TAND ARD FEATURE Hooks that won't come unattached RIDER AN ALYSIS Brian proudly showed off his new straps and gave me a set to try sev- eral years ago, and I've used them ever since. I still have that original set and have bought multiple sets for my van and trailer. I also added some of the ratchet strap versions to my kit for securing UTVs and other items that need to be snugged down extremely tight. The carabiner end makes it easier to strap bikes when you don't have to worry about it coming unattached in addition to staying attached if the bike gets rocked from hitting bumps in the road. The built-in soft-tie works great on dirt bike handle bars but also provides strapping options for other types of bikes. For example, I have found that ADV and street bikes can be strapped around the forks and lower triple clamp to avoid the body work. The lower strapping point can also provide a more secure angle for some vehicles.
