previous Portuguese round got
people thinking again.
Yet, sure enough, Ten Kate
got their 10th Rider's WorldSSP
Championship this weekend and
Aegerter his first, polishing things
off with a podium in race two.
In race one, Jules Cluzel
(GMT94 Yamaha) performed
another magic trick by disappear-
ing at the front of the pack for the
19-lap race, as he had done at
every other race held at the Vil-
licum track in previous years.
Second place went to Man-
uel Gonzalez from the Yamaha
ParkinGO team, who overhauled
the combative and fast-starting
fourth-place qualifier Can Oncu
(Kawasaki Puccetti Racing), who,
so we can use the pace that
we have and try to move up the
leaderboard."
The main takeaway is that
the championship is not quite
done yet. In the post Argentin-
ean championship standings,
Razgatlioglu has 531 points, Rea
501, Redding 465, Rinaldi 278
and Locatelli 270. Next race will
be at the new Mandalika Interna-
tional Street Circuit, November
19-21.
WorldSSP
It was always possible that
Dominique Aegerter (Ten Kate
Yamaha) would win the champi-
onship at this round, but a storm-
ing ride from Steven Odendaal
(Evan Bros Yamaha) at the
Bassani was fourth, just 1.5
seconds from Razgatlioglu.
Rinaldi was fifth, just behind Bas-
sani, and Van der Mark carded
sixth, just 8.147 seconds behind
race-winner Redding.
Garrett Gerloff came away
from Argentina with a pair of
seventh-place finishes and an
eighth on the GRT Yamaha.
"I had a really difficult time
at the beginning of both races,
which prevented us from getting
much better results," Gerloff said
on Sunday. "I was able to make
progress, but not as much as I
would have wanted. It's frustrat-
ing because I know our potential
is way better than this, we just
need to put the pieces together
Jules Cluzel (16)
maintained his perfect
record in Argentina
with pole and two
convincing wins.
