In the championship, Gardner still leads by nine points, 271 to 262, but it's now all to play for with Fernandez firmly on the attack with three rounds and 75 point on the table. Third is Bez- zecchi on 206. MOTO3 Izan Guevara (Solunion GasGas Aspar Team) was declared the Moto3 race winner at the Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas after a double red-flagged race. The reigning Junior World Cham- pion was first when the initial red flags were shown follow- ing a crash, eight laps into the lightweight class race, before a frightening multi-rider incident on the back straight at more than 140 mph caused the red flags to be shown for a second time. Red Bull KTM Ajo's Deniz Oncu chopped across the front of Jeremy Alocba (Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3), causing Alcoba to go down and Andrea Migno (Rivacold Snipers Team) and Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) to take avoiding ac- tion, the latter two slamming into debris left by Alcoba's stricken Honda. Incredibly, Alcoba, Migno and World Championship leader Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) were able to walk away from the crash. For his part in the ac- cident, Oncu has been hit with a two-race suspension and will only take the restart in the final race of the season at Valencia on November 14. The top three at Austin went to Guevara, Den- nis Foggia (Leopard Racing) and John McPhee (Petronas Sprinta Racing). In the championship, Acosta still leads the way despite two DNF's in the last three races on 218 to Foggia's 188 and Sergio Garcia's 168. ROUND 15 / OCTOBER 1-3, 2021 CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICAS / AUSTIN, TEXAS P64 MOTOGP I FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Alex Rins (42) was in fine form and nearly took another podium at a track he loves. Talk about a swing! Raul Fernandez (25) is now just nine points behind Remy Gardner with 75 points still to play for in Moto2.
