Jean-Michel Bayle and Guy Cooper were the big winners at the AMA National Motocross at Budds Creek... Kevin Atherton captured his first career flat track National win at the Pomona Half Mile... For the first time Malaysia hosted a round of the 500cc Road Race Grand Prix, and it was also the first win for American John Kocinski... Doug Polen clinched the World Superbike Championship in France. VOLUME 58 ISSUE 40 OCTOBER 5, 2021 P121 Mat Mladin was pictured on the cover 20 years ago for winning the AMA Superbike Championship at VIR. Anthony Gobert wrapped up the 600cc Supersport title... Ruben Xaus won race one at the final World Superbike of the year at Imola; Regis Laconi won race two... Team France, made up of David Vuillemin, Luigi Seguy and Yves Demaria, won the Motocross des Nations in Belgium.
