Briefly...
Brayton had a solid moto, finishing
seventh behind Brett Metcalfe and
Trey Canard.
Ken Roczen said he had his team
finally came up with some bike settings that he's happy with. "We've
been struggling this year to get the
setup good, and we finally made a
big step, and I think that went my
direction today, which made a big
difference on a track like this one,"
he said. "The bike really worked
good here and I think we made
good progress. It's difficult because Marvin [Musquin]and I run
a completely different setup. He's
running with 52mm forks and I'm
running 48s, so that's quite a big
difference. I feel more comfortable
on the 48mm forks. I had a little bit
of a problem, though, but I think
we figured it out. It got frustrating
at one point, but from now it should
be good."
Ryan Dungey said line selection
was critical on the Southwick track.
"The lines were really important today," said Dungey. "There's such a
hard base here under the sand that
you feel like you're in a soft section
and then all of a sudden the bumps
start getting harder and you end
up catching an edge. It's already
tough with your rear end sliding all
over, and then the bumps are sharp
and can catch you up. It bit a lot of
people today, in both classes. At
the beginning of the second moto,
I was able to close a little on Villopoto, and then all of a sudden I
started hitting a few lines wrong
and he pulled away. He was riding
