ROUND 7/JUNE 29, 2013 MX 338 RACEWAY/SOUTHWICK, MASSACHUSETTS MOTOCROSS P68 2013 LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP SERIE Ryan Villopoto (2) ran away from Dungey in the second 450 moto. My Own Race: 7 JAMES STEWART 51 11TH O/A (34-4) Yoshimura Suzuki's James Stewart appeared to be headed to his first moto win of the year after jumping out to an early lead in the first moto. But the track bit him near the halfway point. "I was quickest in first practice and second quickest in second practice when the track was a little rougher," said Stewart. "The cool thing was that, the last time I raced here was in 2008 and I was running the same lap times today that I was then. And in the first moto, I got the holeshot and was starting to pull away. Then I went into that rut section and kind of lost the front end and I ended up taking a digger and hurt my shoulder and knocked the wind out of me. But I was able to come back and in the second moto, I got a good jump and made a couple of passes right at the beginning. After about 15 minutes, I felt like I could barely hold on, but I stayed in there. The first moto was definitely a bummer because I felt like that race was ours, but I'm happy with the second moto. I'm pretty sore now but I'm going to go back and get checked out and come back strong for RedBud." JUSTIN BARCIA 3RD O/A (3-3) 450 338 ZACH OSBORNE 3RD O/A (5-3) 250 Justin Barcia was consistent throughout the day, going 3-3 on his Team Muscle Milk Honda for third overall. "I got a bad start in the first moto and I got bumped around a bit, but I was able to work my way back to third, which was good," said Barcia. "I definitely spent a lot of energy in that first moto and it took a toll on my body. In the second moto, I was right behind Villopoto and Dungey, but I just wasn't able to keep the pace they were running, so I ended up finishing third again." Zach Osborne grabbed his best finish of the year in the 250 class, the GEICO Honda rider going 5-3 for third overall. "Today was pretty good for me, although I still struggled with a little bit of arm pump in the first moto and I kind of turned in a mediocre ride to fifth," said Osborne. "In the second moto, I got off to a good start and jumped up into second and then I had a good battle at the end of the moto with Tomac. This week I didn't feel nearly as broken after the first moto as I did last week at Budds Creek. I think last week was kind of sneaky hot, but this week I felt a lot better going into that second moto, and I think that helped me put on a good charge."
