undoing. She went on to finish out the moto in seventh, while Patterson
claimed the moto win.
In the title-deciding second moto, Kaneshiro
still held a three-point advantage over Patterson, but it wouldn't be enough. Patterson went
on to win, while Kaneshiro finished third, giving
up five points to Patterson, who took the championship with two points to spare.
Rock River Yamaha's Mackenzie Tricker finished second overall at Southwick with a 2-2,
while Munn Racing KTM's Sara Pettersson
took third overall with a 4-4.
The Triple Crown was a fitting way for Patterson to finish out her motocross career. Patterson says she's going to change gears and
focus now on off-road racing and the GNCC
Championship.
