good start to lead the pack into the
first corner; Stefan Bradl (6), Rossi
(46), Cal Crutchlow (35), Marquez
(93) and the rest give chase.

broke his collarbone on Thursday,
had it fixed in the small hours of
Friday morning, and on Saturday
was back to race – and not just to
race, but to finish a heroic fifth. In
the space of three days the World
Champion showed himself to be
both human and superhuman. "I
do not do crazy things?"

weekend, led away, then faded
