CN III VOICES P18 LETTERS TO THE EDITOR "The racing is good and - no matter who dominates - I'll watch." Name Change In issue #25 of Cycle News you reported that the FIM has changed the names of their motocross classes along with dropping one of the classes. In the article, you stated that the MX3 class was for 125cc two strokes. According to official FIM sources, this class had been for motorcycles displacing 500cc for two-strokes and up to 650cc for four-stroke machines. I believe you confused the MotoGP road racing's Moto3 class with this announcement. That class had been for twostroke 125cc machines until the FIM (stupidly) switched it to an all four-stroke powered class. Thank you for a great publication. Steve Caro San Diego, CA Steve, you are correct. We did confuse the two. Thanks for setting the record straight… Editor Likes Moto TV I want to express my opinion on the awesome coverage of motorcycle racing we get on TV. The motocross and Supercross coverage has never been better (live races) and what's better than waking up on Sundays and watching MotoGP. Just set your DVR and watch the best coverage ever. Thank you to everyone involved in making this happen. Norm Redo Long Beach, MS Baja Error In your June 19th issue in "Looking Back" you wrote that the 1993 Baja 500 was won by Danny Hamel, Steve Hengeveld and Larry Roeseler. It was not Steve Hengeveld, but Ted Hunnicutt Jr. who was on the winning team. the right time. Mat Mladin was one; Miguel Duhamel had his. Now we can add Josh Hayes to the list. Until heads are pulled out and the rules more closely reflect the rest of the world's national and global series, we can most likely look forward to more of this. The racing is good and - no matter who dominates - I'll watch. I'm just very happy that I can say I'm actually watching it on TV this year. John A. Stockman Via Facebook Tom Wimberly Via the Internet Suzuki And MotoGP I guess we've waited this long, what's a another year or two? Stephen Clemence Via Facebook Hayes And Yamaha DMG's rules were supposed to eliminate the one-rider, oneteam dominance, but like most of their efforts to mold it into what they thought it should be, once again we are seeing the same thing happen. The best always rise to the top... sometimes it's two or three, sometimes it's one. That doesn't take anything away from Josh Hayes' supreme talent on a great motorcycle. It's the right combination at Got An Opinion? If you've got an opinion on something you've read in Cycle News.
