I'd like to co mmen t o n th e le tt er
from Virg il R. Cray c raft, C.L. U. , wh ich
yo u printed in a re ce n t issue of y o u r

I p ers onally have no way to co m p ar e
th e ad vantages o r d isad van tages of CMC
as o p posed to AM A . b ut , since M r.
Craycraft h as made an issu e of the CMC
insurance p rogram, I'd lik e to take th is
op portu nity to clarify some o f hi s
misco nceptions.
We take p rid e in the fact that, in
ad di tion to CMC , we also insu re th e
S RA , ACA, ACE, AH RA, Ame rican

gro ups to o numerous to m e n tion with a
resultant t otal of over 7,000 in sured

We feel tha t th e program arran ged

( I) We have a m a ximu m d educ tib le

(2) In ad dition to rid e r medica l we
also h ave an excelle n t spe c tato r
liability p ack age avail ab le wit h
limits avai lab le up to 5 m illion

(3 ) I t's my unde rstan di ng that th e
AMA rid e r m edical in suran ce o nly
p ays 6 0% of th e lo ss wh ere we p ay
up to 10 0% of th e lim it sh o wn on

(4) O ur premiu m charg e to th e CMC
is S 105 not S III per d a y. I d o n ' t
beli eve they h ave an y " h id de n "

Mr. Craycraft states in summary that
"The AMA m embe rs n at io nall y have o n

it doesn't ake a geniu s to figure out th a t
wi th loss ra tios such as th ese it's
amazing th a t th e AMA ' d ed uc tib le ' is
not d oub le the amount it is today, or in
fact that an underwrite r who is a

CLEAN UP!
P.V.D .R. h eld the Gran ny run 2. The
Members and their fa mi lies worked hard
to have a good run. After standing in
the hot sun, eating dust, we had to
spend h o u rs p icking up trash le f t on the
d esert. BLM was th e re an d offered to
hau l the trash o ff, if we would put it in
large plastic bags (more fuel for BLM) .
How lo ng would it take ea ch perso n
to pic k u p th eir o wn trash an d take it
