The f irst Bonneville tires were deve loped for the bike wh ich munched a rod at 160 in second gea r. It was the first win fo r the new MV four and they . needed it after a long string of defeats at the hands of the Yamaha riders. Jarno Saarinen broke a chain after trying u nsuccessf ull y to pass the MV rider for 65 miles. Read sa id that he felt the MV was faster on the Hockenheim c ircuit. Saarinen (Yamaha) was the w inner of the · 250 and his teammate Teuvo Lansivouri was the winner of the 350 class. The 125 class went to Kent Andersson (Yamaha) ahead of Angel Nieto (Morbidelli), and the 50cc class was won by Theo Timmer (Jamath i) after Jan de Vries broke his Kre idler. • • • HONDA m ay re tu rn to E uropean ro ad racing .
