The recommendat ion made. and the petition p r e se rite d were the o~l y de fense solicit ed in b ehalf o f th e ORV re creationist residin g in the ' r o u n t y . From this one inst an ce b lossom ed the c o n s i d e r a t i o n bv the Board o f Supervisors lo ' e stab lish the ~l on t erey County Off-Road Recreational Vehicl e Advisorv Subcommitte e. To t ~ke th e attitude that pe titions and signat ures of organized pleas "uren ' t worth a try" would o n ly be a con tr ad ic tio n of th e benefit that they all owed on J a nu ary second. Addit ional signatures wi ll only verify the in terest in the parti cular are a, wh e the r thes e c ome from c o un ty or no n/ county resid ents . Furth er , it wi ll substan tiate th e need for suc h an area.
