Berksh ires Ready for 1973 International Six-Days Trial This fall, for the first time in its 48 -y e ar history, the International Six-Days Trial (ISDT) w ill be held in the United States. The ISDT, universally regarded as the Olympics of motorcycling, will be held in Massachusetts' Berkshire Mountains September 17·22, 1973. Conducted under the rules and regulations of the Federation Internationale Motocycliste (FIM), this year's event is being sponsored by the American Motorcycle Association. Centering around the Pittsfield-Dalton area of Massachusetts, the ISDT will pit over 200 of the leading European riders against America's top cyclists in a grueling, I ,ODD-mile reliability and endurance test of both man and machine. Opening ceremo nies will be held on the Dalton High School athletic field at 3 p.m, on Se ptember 16 , and a special speed test will conclude the event in Windsor, Massachusetts, on the 22nd. The course has been laid out to allow for numerous spectator vantage points along the route. In addition. grandstand seating will be available near the impound area.
