Carr-Cameron Duo Joins Kawasaki Cli ff Carr and his ace wrench Kev in Came ro n successful Kawasaki independents in 1972 - are now rac ing under the sign of the "flying K" . Carr got his start in Britis h cl ub events and on the continent before crossing the pon d to the U.S. as road racing became big. The Kawasak i 750 he and Kevin Camero n built won local events on the East Coast , and he came close to beating all fac tory ride rs at Ontar io in his firs t year of national c ircu it competition in '72. This year, the Englishman, wearing ::26, wi ll have full support from Kawasaki 's racing development staff. The Mighty Threes Team Kawasaki's road race effort is built around the 750 H2R road racer wh ich made its debut last year. In keeping with Kawasaki 's philosophy, the racing version of the produ ction H2 has a mini mum of " tricks" . The H2R has shorter for ks than the product ion " H" , racing wheels , speed kit heads, a racing cra nkshaft and bearings. Gearbox innards have different ratios, although the box is still a basic five speed in keeping with AMA requirements. Th e box- stock H2 is almost as fast as the H2R, accord ing to Bob Hansen. (Tony Nicosia set a new wor ld drag racing record on one last year.) Most of Hansen's improvements are in frame, for k, and wheel design for better handling. (The big new Kawasaki Z-1 in corp or at es a lot of these ideas deve lo ped in past racin g.) TEAM KAWASAKI I.S.D.T. Kawasaki will help the American International Six Day Trials Team in their effort to capture the trophy this Fall in Pittsfield , Massachusetts. Success in the " Olympics of Motorcycling" involves gathering the top riders and developing a rugged , durable, trials machine. The I.S.D.T. development crew includes engineers Jerry The Kawasak i 750 H2R. Plu s Kawasaki 's ski lled technicians and mechanics , plus the capa ble ridin g abilities of DuHamel, Bauman n, and Carr: A force to be reckon ed wit h. Team Kawasaki I.S.D.T. Kawasaki is out to help America capture the trophy in the International Six Day Trials next fall in Pittsfie ld, Massachusetts. Amateur Kawasaki riders wi ll join abou t 30 other American riders seeking to win the competition usually dominated by Czechoslovakia and West and East Germany .
