He had all his equip me nt there and , no doubt, the local gendarmes were wonderin g wh at th e neighb orhood w as coming to wi th Evel's b ig semi parked o n the stree t . In th e Sh o rt T rack Jeff hit fo r three with hi s stron gest ch allen ge co min g fr om No vice rider Larry Lam bert, who ran right behind him all th e w ay . In th e Half Mile go it was again Larry Lam bert who ch ased Jeff but in the fir st mo to the tab les we re turned and Larry got o ff o n top an d J eff just co uld n ' t ge t aro und him . J eff cam e back th e next two h ea ts and had th in gs pretty mu ch his o wn wa y. Th e 1I0it Brothers mad e a very loud en t ry in to th e winner's circle . Brad won both th e 25 0 Expert Sh ort T rack and Half-mile. As with Jeff, Brad had t hree fo r three on th e little oval. Se cond place Dennis Cre ason h ad to work a lo t harder. Taking a seco n d for th e first .hea t. Dennis th en en countered some p roblem s an d h ad to settle for a fo urth th e secon d go . Brad cam e ba c k in an u p fo r gra bs Hal f-mi le eve n t and pulled o u t fir st with o ne first and two seconds . Bren t Ho lt did h is thing in the Op en _ Amateur-Expert Sh o rt Track ra ck in g up tw o firsts an d a second in th e pro cess. In the Sh ort Track Ric k won tw o of his th ree hea ts with Pat Ch arl es making th e bid for number on e by winnin g the second go. lt was sh ort lived as the strain was either too much for him o r hi s bike and he ON Fed the last heat and had to settle fo r third o vera ll. Frank Ridlon , in th ere all th e way finished second. Ri ck dug on the winning so much that h e cam e b ack in the Half-mil e to d o it again .'
