100 Mile National Road Race
On June 11, 1972, Gary Fisher rode his new Yamaha 350 to a
record -breaking win in the 100 Mile National Road Race at
Loudon, New Hampshire in a b listering time of 1:20 :47 at
74.866 mph average speed over the tw isting 1.6 mile course.
Yamaha dominated the entire event with 9 finishes in the top 20!
250 Junior/Expert Combined Race
Gary Fisher ret urned to the winners circle with a b ig w in on a
Yamaha 250 in the 250 Combi ned Race, where he was fo llowed
by Yamaha Team Hide r Kenny Robert s. The victory roster told
the whole story : Yamaha walked away w ith 10 places in the top
12!
Junior Race
Jim Evans passed everyt h ing in sight o n h is Yamaha 350, and won
a first place finish over the com petition 's 750s. Yamaha wo n
again wit h 6 plac es in t he top 10!
Novice Race
The Novice race was a 1-2-3 sweep for Yamaha 250s! John Long
finished first followed by William Labrie in 2nd p lace and Len
Fitch in 3rd. When the dust sett led, Yamaha captured 6 places in
the top7!
