A lot of rid ers wen t down during today 's races but none were seriously injured. One of t he top riders of th e day, was Steve L aw ren ce on a 125 Puch. Steve swept all three motos with only slight problems in th e th ird . I tal ked wit h Steve's D ad in th e pits an d was told that Steve wan te d to h ave a troph y for his Mo m on Mothe r's Day ...looks like h e got h is w ish , in spadesl! Le n Macchiarella (lIus) and E ric Harvey (Mai) provided the action in the 250 class. In the first m ot o , Er ic was involved in a massive pil e -up in the first turn. It took h im a few minutes to get go ing again b u t he worked up so me p o sit io ns. In th e m ea n time , fly ing H usky rider Len Mac c hia rel la , was making quite a lead for h imself. Len w on th e ra ce eas ily ; Er ic placed furt her bac k. In th e second race, Eric go t a good s ta rt w ith Le n h o t o n h is tai l. E ric was fas t fo r L en an d to ok firs t.
