Sa il La ke C it y, Ulolh 8 4 10 1 INTRODUCING THE RICKMAN 125 MOTOCROSS. Derek and Don Rickman, champion British motocross riders, developed a frame so unique, that peop le all over the world wrote to them requesting one. They had to open a tactory just to try and keep up with the d em and . and still the y had to turn do wn or de rs . It wou ld have been simp le and prof itable to keep making these unique frames. But the Brothers weren 't happy-because they knew that thei r perfec t frame was only the beginn ing of the perfe c t bik e. And that's what they really wanted to make. After many years of testing , learning from everybody else's mistakes (and a few of their own). Derek and Don perfected their Rickman-Metisse 125 Motoc ross- a bike so hand crafted , there will only be a limited quantity of them for sale this year. That's because the Rickmans don' t compete with big manufacturers-except when they wipe them out on the course . The Rickman frame has no com petition. It's constructed of a speci al lightweight alloy-steel; the kind they make jet planes with . Every joint of the frame is profiled to fit , bro nze-welded for a virtually indestructible bond, into a race-tes ted. doub le-lo o p cradl e frame . The swing arm has been specially desig ned toa dd to stability. Each frame is then nickel -plated for finest PRESENTED BY THE BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS COMPANY , INC ., EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTOR OF RICKMAN ·METISSE, TRIUMPH , AND BSA MOTORCYC LES IN THE U. S. A. appeara nce . The Rickm an s wat ch over thei r frames, constantly refining their refinements. They know if the frame is right. making the bi ke right wi ll be a lot easier. Choosing the Zundapp 2-stroke 125 engine is another way of making the perfect bike. Th is inte rn atio na l celebr ity is famous for hammering out steady power. For its compact size and light weight. the Zundapp puts out an incred ible to rq ue. On the power band. you'tl swear someone slipped you a 250 . Take her blast ing up a steep slope-and you're flying . Because the Rickman frame is so inc redibly light. and the Zundapp engine so compact ly powe rfu l, your power / w eig ht rat io is higher-you move lighter and faster than the competition . MOlocrossing on a Rickman- Metisse t 25 is being in contro l of your machine. whether you're on-the-pi pe. or skinnying over mud slides. Conical alum in um alloy hub s kee p braki ng light and smooth, while also reduci ng unsprung weight. Put all t hese feat ure s tog et he r, and you've got a motocross bike that gives racing or just riding a new dimension. The supply is limit ed. but Derek and Don are making certain that spare parts and servic ing are no problems. They have chosen The Birmingham Small Arms Compa ny, inc . as thei r exc lusive dist ributo r in the U.S.A., so there will be a nationwide dea l e r chain handling Ric km a nMetisse in the U.S.A. The Rickman Brothers aren't making the most bikes . Just the best ones. ~ . , Cl
