When opportunity knocks, you' re supposed to open th e door a nd take advantage of it . A bou t th e onl y spot there seemed to b e 'an y com pe titio n for Richard was in th e 25 0 class. David Boydstun re turned t o action afte r a rather len gth y layoff d ue to scooter p roblems, rej o ining the war s today o n a b rand new Yamah a 250. With th e new bike coup led with hi s long lay-off, David was ac tually learnin g the trac k again an d also h is new m oun t. He put things together fast enough to get second spo t overa ll an d would see m to be very happy with h is new Yamaha. Mr. and Mrs . Derham mer and their son, Jon, journeyed n orth war d today, Jon ridi ng Corona for the very first time, and were immensely p leased with the beautiful and dust-free Corona cou rse. A lthough, this wa s Jon's first time at Corona, he got to know the track well enough so that he was able to push hi s CZ in for th ird overall , behind Eirste dt and Boydstun. J on said he liked the tr ack so well that he'll b ring hi s CZ back to ride th e tra c k on its new d ay and time this next week. In case anybody missed it at the rider's meeting, Corona has shifted its m otocross show fr om Saturday da ytime, to Thursday night time. The pit ga tes open at 4 :30, practice wi ll be from 5 :30 t o 6 :30, with the first ra ce being flagged off a t 7 p.m, sh arp . 1 understand th at th er e will b e some radical ch an ges made t o th e e n tire cou rse and the way they we re ex p la ine d to me , it so u n ds like it 's going to b e a mu ch m ore exciting and d emanding course. eve n mOTC so than it has b ee n . Both riders remain na tional p oints leaders in their respective classes. Second and third overall in the 250 class wen t to Bob Ha rri s ( Bu l) and Tony Wynn (CZ) . In the Open class , it was Wy man Priddy (CZ) a nd Gary Se rnics (lIus).
