Duke was not so lucky and he hit the fen ce in the same place Jim hit it. Last word on Duke was a possible broken shoulder. Looks like Mike Myers enjo ys the Open class best. Mounted on J ay Hunter's snortin ' Norton, Mike all but ran away from the rest o f the pack. The San Bernardin o na sh , Dick Gin o, h eld off Walt Foster for second. Gino hasn't ra ced much sin ce h e b ro ke his leg at Elsinore last year. At th at time , h e h ad a string o f wins go ing th at was ver y impressive. The three motos saw Scott emerge • as the leader during the first laps. From thcn on it was try and catc h him. Chuck Fruchey on a Yamaha placed second, just ahead of Jim Connolly. Connolly chose today to u nviel his Ma rk Johnson (d own) keeps every one on the ir toes. Tad Willis (10 1xl gets an other Bulan h is wa y to a 250 No vice win.
