By Sportphoto HAN FO R D, CA L., Mar ch 5, 19 72 The Kin gs County Motorcy cle Club today hosted a huge field of scrambles racers fo r their Sixth Annual Double Points event. So great was the n umber DISTRICT 35 Kings County M.C. Hosts Huge Field of entrants that t he 125cc Novice needed five heats and tw o divisions, w hile the 250cc Novice required six heats and three divisions! The to tal count of all riders present went to something over 270! The track, as usual, was near perfect as was the organization . .Iack .Iones picked up his fift h consecutive win in the 250cc Expert Main as welJ as his fou rth double win of the season when combined with the 100 Expert class. .lack's win in the 250 class tod y was a real lo w-key affair, as he charged off the line with the lead and never relinquished it for the duration. Na one could get close enough to .Iack to exert any pressure at all and he cruised home with an easy wire-to-wire win. Miniscule Kirb y Shropshire ca me off t he lin e in second only t o h ave Ryan Gifford get aro und hi m on th e way o ut of turn one, Kirby in t urn. was p urs ued by .li m Keen er and Bruce Baesemann. Baesemann got the drive on Keen er exiting the right-hander and moved in to fourth over the jump. All was pretty much static until the last lap , when Kenner got a wheel und er Baesemann driving out of the last tum to just nip by at the checker. The 200 Novice Main saw :llatt Davis in another wire-to-wire effort. Although the lead wasn't in any doubt, there was a question about mo st every other position until t he checker. Tom Parcel chased Davis off the start. Parcel got - into turn one of the last lap a mite too ho t and watched a sure second p lace go down the tube. (Results o n page 36) Jim McC racken was the Open t:xpert winner . Tom Parcel (74 0) has the bead on the tu rn in 200 N ovice acti on. H e took a fourth . Bill Johnson IS) r~lied to a third in 100 Expert while Ryan Gifford pulled down a second in the 250 Expert .
