Malone (AJ S ) had things pretty m uch h is way in the 250 class, winning th e first a nd third round s, and a bad " get awa y " after a dead engine start in mota nu mber two, preve nted a p os sible sweep. McDougal (Yam) fell in race number o ne a nd fin ished sixth, but wo n heat tw o a nd was second some t en feet b eh ind Mo rri s in the third . In th e 500 actio n , Cram (Mai ) co ntin ued h is dominan ce as h e won th e first tw o motos and wa s leading t h e third w hen he took a sp ill on the h illy port ion of the co u rse and came hom e fifth. Mike won th e seco nd on a fla t fro nt tire b y 50 yard s over Malo ne and left the field far b eh ind in h eat o ne as he waltzed to a 150-ya rd m argin . Malone (AJ S) was second overall by virtu e o f two seco nd s a nd third and McDo ugal, o n a Greeves instead o f th e usu al Yamaha, fin ish ed t hird b ehind Morris after getting things t o gether to cop race numbe r three. In Division Two o f the 100 Juniors, Bill Hudson (Ho d ) di dn't wi n a m o ta, but he garnered enough points via two seconds and a third to nab top spot. Mark Balzer (Hod) w o n the first two races, b ut h ad mechanical p ro bl em s in the third and finished out of t he m oney . Paul Ny la nd (Pen ) sw ep t all three races in . the 125 J u nio r, Divisio n One cat ego ry , an d all three w ins w ere by 100 yards o r b etter.
