Division Two honors went to hard riding Don Smith (Yam) as he won all three heats; the second and third by huge margins. The 250 Junior class saw a familiar face in the winner's circle: Richard Duncan (Mai). Richard swept all three motos last week and was apparently on his way to a r~eat tonight after taking the first woo However, Marv Braun (AJS) made a great move to get by Duncan at the start line and nab the final heat. Duncan looks good and it sho uld n 't b e lo ng before h e m ov es up a class. Grandstanding Brad Salata (Hus) had it easy in the 500 Junior events and won all th ree races by big margins. Brad Roberts (Hon) won the schoolboy class after apparent winner Mark Shader (Hon) cut the course in heat one and was set back one spot and the demotion cost him the overall title. Riding for 50% trophies, all classes we re run for three 15 minute mo tos, During the 125cc proficient Novice class, Joe Root, on a new Bultaco Pursang, after taking a win in each of his first two motos, fell during the third, pushing him back to fifth place. He then easily moved up to second behind Larry Robertson (Bul) . Root held this position until 100 feet from the finish line during the last lap when suddenly, Robertson (and his tough Bul), while trying to pass a slower rider to take the ch e c k e r e d , became "corraled" momentarily thus letting Root gallop his way over the finish line for a first overall. Robertson finished second overall with a 2-2-2. Thirteen-year-old Randy Meacham (Yam) ran away with three wins for the 100cc Beginner class. The third "grand slam" went to Joe Cotten [Mai] riding in the Open Beginner class. Moving very fast and smooth, Wayne Brown (CZ) took three checkered flags .. Most Powerful . .. MAleC .. .. ..
