In the Superbike Cup for
Stock 1000 machines in the
Superbike race, newly-crowned
Stock 1000 Champion Jake
Lewis took two wins on the
Altus Motorsports Suzuki GSX-
R1000R, with Ashton Yates
coming through for the race-
three win on the Jones Honda
CBR1000RR-R SP. Lewis now
holds a 28-point lead in the
of rounds with a seventh and
two fifth-place finishes at NJMP,
although it didn't really matter
as he now appears secure in
third place in the championship
behind Gagne and Scholtz.
Elias went from third in race
one to a DNF in race two, and
finally, a sixth in race three,
marking a slippery slide for the
former champion.

pace was going to be like. I just let him do
the lead. It's tough to lead around here. It
was kind of a longer race. I wanted to see
how he managed his res. He actually had
a pre y good li le gap there midway. I
made a mistake going into turn seven and
ran a li le bit wide, but then a er that I
was like, 'I'm not going to let him win.' I
wanted to go out and get the champion-
ship up on top of the step, so that's what
we did."
