he pre-eminent miler of today, Jared
Mees, desperately needed to sweep
in both Springfield and Sacramento
if he was to eat away at the substantial
25-point advantage reigning Grand National
Champion Briar Bauman had accumulated
following the Peoria TT.
The factory Indian superstar did exactly
that and looked more dominant with each
subsequent outing. And as a result, he's
now the one with the championship advan-
tage heading into October's Progressive
AFT finale at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
While that table-turn didn't come as a
massive shock considering Mees' recent
record on the Miles (and in Springfield and
Sacramento in particular), the most "legend-
ary" drama took place a straightaway behind
Mees in Sunday's Sacramento Mile II.
All alone and out in front.

new points leader.
