Tony Wynn's b ike sounded a little off the pipe ; Jordan's 125 CZ looked super on t he straightaways. Ron Osborn brought alo ng a b ig BSA and a 250 CZ . There were red CZ jerseys everywhere. Not to be outdone, Champ ion Cycle of Houst o n had Ch am p ion Racing Team m emb er s in go ld jerseys. T hose tea m s sure loo ked sharp . We are glad to see such professionalism in moto cros s. The 125 Senior class looked like a Penton parade with one guy out of step, who happened to be Johnson on that Montesa. Mike had found a line far out to the left com ing down the front straigh r, closing the door o n everyone excep t Finstad. Those two were gassing it! They were only .0 2 seconds off the 250s. T w en ty 250 Se niors lined up to see who was go,ing to get the m o st of the $335 purse. After two lap s Wyman Prid dy was th e leader a nd Ma rk Harringt on wa s righ t in there . Track promote r Dan Smith was to ask Robi to please n ot race and interfere with the other riders who had paid to p lay . Rob i couldn't hear. He finished third behi nd Harrington in the second mo ta while Priddy won. In the final mota Bob Graham looked tough o n his Husky, more European than Texan. He finished third behind Ha rrington who had lost the seat off h is CZ. Again, Priddy looked super-smooth and p laced first. Only 1 1 racers lined up fo r the Open Seniors a nd again the class was pa y in g $335, so it seemed that th e odds we re good. It was Priddy a nd h is CZ fro m start to finish in all three motos.
