Derek and Don Rickman, champion British motocross riders, developed a frame so unique, that people all over the world wrote to them requesting one. They had to open a factory just to try and keep up with the demand , and still t hey riad to turn down order s. It would have been simple and profitable to keep making these unique frames. But the Brothers weren 't happ y-becau se they knew that their perfect frame was only the beginning of t he pe rfect bi ke. An d that's what they really wanted to make. After many years of testing, learning from everybody else's mistakes (and a few of their own). Derek and Don perfected their Rickman-Metisse 125 Motocr oss-a bike so hand cra fted , there will only be a limited quantity of them for sale this year,That's because the Rickmans don't compete with big manuf act ur er s- exce pt when they wipe them out on the course. The Rickman frame has no competition. It's constructe d of a special lightweight alloy-ste el; the kind they make jet planes with. Every joint of the frame is profiled to fit, bronze-welded for a virtually indestructi ble bond, into a race - te sted , dou b le-loop c rad le frame. The swing arm has been specially designed to add to stability. Each frame is then nickel-plated for finest PRESENTED BYTHE BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS COMPANY, INC., EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTOR OF RICKMAN-MEliSSE. TRIUMPH , AND BSA MOTORCYCLES IN THE U.S.A . appearance. The Rickmans watch over thei r frames, constantly refining their refinements. They know if the frame is right, maki ng the bike right wil l be a lot easier. Choosing the Zundapp 2-stroke 125 engine is another way of making t he perfect bike. This i nternati ona l celebr ity is famous for hammering out steady power. For its compact size and light weight, the Zundapp puts out an incredi ble torque. On the power band, YOU 'll swear someone slipped yo u a 250 . Take he r b lasting up a steep slope-and you're flying. Because the Rickman frame is so incredi bly light, and the Zundapp engine so compactly powerful .. your power / weight rat io is higher-you move lighter and faster than the competitio n. Moto cro ssi ng on a Ric kmanMetisse 125 is being in control of your machine, whether you're on-the-pipe, or skinnying over mud slides. Conical alum inum al lo y hubs kee p braki ng light and smooth, while also reducing unsprung weight. Put all t hese features tog ether, and you've got a motocross bike that gives racing or just riding a new dimension. The supply is limited , but Derek and Don are making certain that spare parts and servicing are no problems. They have chosen The Birmingham Small Arms Company, Inc. as thei r exc lusive di str ibut or in th e U.S.A., so there will be a nationwide dea l e r c ha i n hand lin g Ric kma nMetisse in the U.S.A. The Rickman Brothers aren't making the most bikes. Just the best ones. ~ lIC1lMA.....rnssE RICk...N DIVI SION THE BIR ... ING H...... SMAll ARU S CO , INC lASt P O BOX 6790 . BALTIIiIl ftE.
