IN THE WIND P60 Toprak in MotoGP in 2023? Y amaha had made no se- cret of its desire to place World Superbike star Toprak Razgatioglu in its MotoGP ranks for next season, only for the Turkish rider to opt to stay put. But should he overcome Jonathan Rea in this year's title, Lin Jarvis, managing di- rector of Yamaha Motor Rac- ing, doesn't foresee a reason why he couldn't move across to the premier class for 2023. "Toprak and his manage- ment [Kenan Sofuoglu] were in Austria," said Jarvis at Silverstone. "We had a really friendly chat about his fu- ture. But they are pretty fixed on staying in the Superbike Championship. They're comfort- able there. He wants to win one or two championships in Superbike before he moves. So, he can't re- ally win the championship this year and switch out and go to MotoGP, because they're championship fin- ishes too late. He will stay definitely '22 in Superbike. But if he becomes champion this year and does very, very well next year, then why not? In 2023 maybe we'll see him here." Neil Morrison Yamaha wants Toprak in MotoGP, but the man himself wants at least one WorldSBK title in his pocket before he goes. Waverly face the greatest chal- lenges of their lives and seek to find the formula for the recovery of their community, our communi- ty of motocross and off-road rac- ers has the opportunity to repay the kindness and support that the Waverly community has shown to us for nearly half a century. "MX Sports, organizer of the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at the Ranch, has placed a Call to Action to our sport, our athletes and the motor- cycle industry as a whole, to join in a charitable fundraising program to support the community of Waverly. It is their goal to develop a mean- ingful outreach plan to provide fi- nancial and operational assistance to the community of Waverly and its citizens and to those who have suffered life-changing losses as a result of this tragedy. "This program, Racers 4 Wa- verly, will benefit members of the Waverly community as a whole, including local residents who have been actively engaged with the event. The program will be collectively coordinated through our sport's official charity, the Road 2 Recovery Foundation." Click on the Racers 4 Waverly link to donate and for more infor- mation. CN
