ROUND 11 / AUGUST 22, 2021
PMC PARK / PEORIA, ILLINOIS

FLAT TRACK I PROGRESSIVE AMERICAN FLAT TRACK
AFT PRODUCTION TWINS
Prior to the AFT Production
Twins main, Dan Bromley said
he could either view Vance &
Hines' decision to field a pair of
TT maestros in Jesse Janisch
and Hayden Gillim in place of
the injured Dalton Gauthier as a
threat or an opportunity.
He chose opportunity.
That didn't seem entirely
realistic after Janisch and Gillim
won their respective semis, but
an altered surface following an
afternoon rain session changed
the complexion of the main.
While Janisch and Gillim had
their Harley-Davidson XG750Rs
bala, and with Brunner officially
credited in fourth. Behind them,
Spanish Flat Track ace Ferran
Cardús edged multi-discipline
legend Ryan Sipes for fifth.
While Wiles was king for the
day (again), in the bigger pic-
ture the race was a big step
toward the coronation of Whale.
Before the race, a Daniels win
and Whale fifth would have
been a reasonable prediction.
Instead, Daniels ended up 17th
and Whale second, moving the
Australian from two points back
to 16 up, with five races left to
determine the 2021 AFT Singles
championship.

tear-off.
Wiles again built up another
big lead following the third start
and was ultimately awarded his
15th consecutive Peoria TT vic-
tory when a third red flag waved
while he was working the final
lap.
The final red came as a result
of a crash by teammate Trevor
Brunner, who was battling with
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's
Max Whale and third official
Honda man Cole Zabala for
second.
In the end, Whale took the
runner-up spot, followed by Za-
Ryan Sipes rode a
GasGas to sixth place
in the Singles main. He
crossed the line five
seconds back from
winner, Wiles.
