Wiles resumed in the lead only
to have the race halted again
moments later, after Daniels—
who was a lap down and zipping
up through the pack—suffered
an even uglier spill on the front
straight. The champ was thrown
over the front of his Estenson
Racing Yamaha YZ450F via
defending class champion and
local hero, Dallas Daniels.
And while Daniels won his
semi with ease, Wiles only took
his after seeing fellow Michi-
gander Brandon Kitchen turn
faster laps and reel in Wiles'
Turner Racing/American Honda
CRF450R aboard his factory-
backed Husqvarna FC 450.
With the stage properly set,
what promised to be classic
ended up a chaotic affair.
Daniels took the early lead
but came down, following the
AFT SINGLES
This year's AFT Singles show-
down at Peoria had been nearly
two seasons in the making. It
promised fireworks. Instead, it
delivered explosions.
Ironically, while Wiles brought
his 14-race win streak "down"
with him to the undercard, his
streak likely never faced such a
formidable threat as it did against
the current AFT Singles field.
To keep his streak alive, Wiles
would first have to go through
the class' 2019 runaway winner,
Henry Wiles' (17) win in
the Singles class was
his 15th career victory
at the Peoria TT.
