and right now that feels like a
welcome turn of unmissable fun
to come for the neutrals.
For Garrett Gerloff, his week-
end wasn't his best with a pair
of ninths in race one and the
Superpole race, but race two
would end when a crashing
Chaz Davies (Go Eleven Ducati)
punted him out of the race on lap
one.
"Sunday started really well
with a setup change in the morn-
ing," Gerloff said. "It made me
feel more comfortable with the
bike, and I could set my fastest
time on the last lap of the warm
up but, unfortunately, I had a
poor start in the Superpole race,
and I wasn't able to improve my
grid position for the main event.
In the afternoon, though, I had
a much better start, and I was
feeling good, but at the entry of
T9, I felt a hit from behind and all
of a sudden I was on the ground.
I am really disappointed for the
GRT team, we were making
steady progress, but we couldn't
show what we really had this
weekend."
With Locatelli fourth, Sykes
was digging his heels in fifth
place in race two, as the best
BMW rider.
Razgatlioglu said he simply
needed to win race two. "Every
lap I pushed for a good lap time,
consistent lap time," he said.
"After I saw in my board with a
gap of one second, I watched
and relaxed. I said, 'today, finally
I win,' because for me not an
easy weekend."
But one that was worth it with
a share of the championship
lead.
Crucially, Redding is just
38 points behind now, and in
a position to pounce on any
Razgatlioglu or Rea mistakes or
misfortunes.
Rea and Razgatlioglu now
have 311 points each, Redding
has 273. Lowes is still fourth with
169, but Locatelli is now creep-
ing ever closer with 151 points.

With two wins at Navarra,
Dominique Aegerter (Ten Kate
Yamaha) went a sizeable 47
points ahead in the champion-
ship rankings.
In the first race, over 20 laps,
he pushed on in the second half
by an eventual 4.425 seconds. It
