National victory that came at the Indy Mile... We had coverage of the
500cc U.S. Motocross Grand Prix from Glen Helen. Jean-Michel Bayle
and Jeff Ward traded moto wins with Bayle getting the overall victory...
Tim Ferry was the big winner at Loretta Lynn's. The 16-year-old, Ferry,
won the 125cc A Stock and Modified classes. Other champs included
Jeff Dement, Tommy Clowers,
Damon Huffman, Joey Moore
and Mercedes Gonzalez...
Wayne Rainey won the San
Marino GP.

Our 2002 125cc Motocross Shootout was featured in issue #34 20
years ago. The winner? The Suzuki RM125... We had coverage of
the Spring Creek National Motocross from Millville, Minnesota, where
Ricky Carmichael (250cc) and Grant Langston (125cc) came away
with the wins... Chris Carr won the Peoria TT for the 12th time. It was
also his 50th career Grand National win... James Stewart was the
top rider at Loretta Lynn's.
