for moto two, but I just couldn't
quite get the job done."
Hampshire went 4-3 on the
day for fourth overall, while rookie
Max Vohland had a breakthrough
ride with fifth overall (6-5).
"Today went really well," said
Vohland. "The track was super
brutal, and I found myself getting
shuffled back a lot, but I put in
good charges in both motos to
go 6-5 for fifth overall, which is a
career-best for me."
Hunter Lawrence (Honda),
Jalek Swoll, Levi Kitchen (Yama-
ha), Jarrett Frye (Yamaha) and Ty
Masterpool (GasGas) completed
the top 10 overall.
Many eyes were focused on
Kitchen who emerged from last
week's AMA Amateur National
Motocross Championship as the
top rider. Kitchen, from Washing-
ton State on the Monster Energy
Star Racing Yamaha, was impres-
sive after going 13-8, finishing just
ahead of his more experienced
teammate Frye in both motos.
This wasn't, however, Kitchen's
first pro race. That was RedBud
held over the July Fourth Week-
end, when he went 9-19.
"I'm pretty happy with how the
motos went after how bad qualify-
ing was," Kitchen said. "[Unadilla]
is very unique and technical! My
first goal as a pro was to check a
top-10 finish off of the list, so to get
eighth overall was awesome."
