R18 B
H
ot on the heels of the 2022 BMW
R18 Transcontinental release
comes the stripped back R18 B,
the "B" in this case indicating "Bagger."
Using the base R18 as its starting
platform, the R18 B uses the same air/
oil-cooled flat twin that pumps out 90
horsepower at 4750 rpm and 116 lb-ft of
torque at 3000 rpm, the same six-speed
gearbox, and the same double-loop steel-
tube chassis.
You also get the same ABS-equipped
Brembo four-piston caliper setup mated
to dual 300mm discs and the same sus-
pension.
Where the B differs is in the bikini fair-
ing with the stubby windscreen and the
rear bags, plus the dash is no longer the
singular circle unit but the 10.25-inch TFT
unit from the Transcontinental.
Neatly fitted onto the bagger is the
same infotainment and audio system of
the Transcontinental. The audio pack-
age has three options in the standard
two-speaker package, four-speaker or
six-speakers with subs and amplifiers.
You also get the same 6.3-gallon gas
tank from the Transcontinental, up from
4.2 on the base R18.
The 2022 BMW R18 B starts at
$21,495, but that's before you delve into
the BMW packages catalog, which will no
doubt add a few bucks to the bottom line
as BMW rarely does baseline bikes these
days.

The addition of
the R18 B makes
three R18 variants
in the new 2022
BMW lineup.
