H
ill MX Ranch, home of the Hill brothers,
Justin and former factory motocrosser
Josh, hosted round three of the IRC Mo-
toclimb Super Series in Yoncalla, Oregon,
July 31-August 1. What started out as a film
project with Monster Energy last October,
the Hill Family has made this event open to
the public but with limited tickets available
(and they were all quickly snatched up).
The event also hosted the Faster Minis Pit
Bike Races, a Best Whip contest, Monster
Energy FMX demos, live music and camp-
ing. On Saturday, the IRC MSS 450 Qualifi-
er took place, which attracted many cross-
over racers, including Colby Raha, Tyler
Bereman, Austin Politelli, Justin Hill, Gared
Stienke, Ryan Sipes and many more. Ron-
nie Mac even made a couple fun runs up the
hill, posting the slowest time of the day of (51
seconds). 2019 IRC MSS Champion Logan
Cipala topped the 450 qualifier, followed by
Josh Hill and Jake Anstett.
The 450 main action started on Sunday
with a good-sized crowd watching, many
who had never experienced the head-to-
head action of dirt bikes battling up a hill.
Josh Hill ended up beating Austin Teyler in
the 450 main, followed by Logan Cipala and
Austin Politelli.
In the Open class, Austin Teyler, Nick Beer and
Joe Shipman impressed the crowd by posting
18-second rides on their Suzuki GSXRs.
Logan Cipala then recorded 17.730 seconds on
his Buell HCR1190, fitted with an IRC M5B EVO
rear tire, winning the Open class and securing the
overall victory with a 3-1 result.
Teyler finished one point behind with a 2-2,
and Josh Hill was only six points behind with a 1-8
overall for his first race on his new Yamaha YZ847F
Open-class bike.
Raha finished 10th in the Open class on a Su-
zuki GSXR 1000, and Bereman finished sixth in the
450 main.
The IRC Motoclimb Super Series finishes off at
the South Hills Showdown in Billings, Montana,
August 29.
