Stock 1000
The single Stock 1000 race of the weekend saw Jake Lewis on
a tear, taking pole and leading from the start. Chuckwalla Val-
ley Raceway/Octane Lending Kawasaki rider Michael Gilbert
chased Lewis
down and took the lead temporarily until Lewis
re-established himself at the front on lap three and maintained
his advantage all the way to the checkered flag.
Mesa37 Kawasaki's Stefano Mesa took third, and Ashton
Yates, on the Jones Racing Honda, was fourth at the finish.
Lewis' win, his third of the year, combined with Corey Alexan-
der's fifth-place finish on the Honos HVMC Racing Kawasaki,
gives
Lewis the championship lead by two points, 157-155.

Race One
Supersport
Like Gagne in Superbike, the Super-
sport class is all about one man right
now.
M4 Ecstar Suzuki's Sean Dylan
Kelly took another double win, but
his dominance wasn't as clear cut as
Gagne's in Superbike.
The Floridian took race one by a tiny
0.075 seconds from long-time rival and
current champion Richie Escalante
(Honos HVMC Racing Kawasaki) and
teammate Samuel Lochoff, and looked
as though Kelly would need to settle
for second in race two until Escalante
threw the Kawasaki down the road
while holding a two-second lead.
That gifted the race-two win to Kelly
and a massive advantage in the cham
-
pionship, 275 to Escalante's 214.
Rocco
Landers (Landers Racing/
Tyrant Designs/Yamaha/Yamalube
Yamaha) crashed out of race one but
made amends for his first podium in
race two, taking his first Supersport
podium in second with Lochoff again
taking third place.
Jake Lewis (85) hit the title lead with his win in Stock 1000.
