2022 Honda Monkey ABS First Look H onda introduced the 2022 Monkey ABS which now fea- tures the same 124cc two-valve, overhead-cam, air-cooled engine that powers Honda's latest Grom. This means the new Monkey ABS now has an additional fifth gear. "While the Monkey has been a hit in the U.S. since we rein- troduced it for the 2019 model year, customers have expressed a desire for more comfortable cruising and better acceleration," said Brandon Wilson, Sports & Experiential Manager at Ameri- can Honda. Honda says the Monkey has a wider spread of gear ratios and a 37-tooth final-drive sprocket (pre- viously 34T), which Honda claims provides peppier acceleration from low speeds but increased top speed, as well. The new Monkey ABS will come in two color options—pearl black and banana yellow—with an MSRP of $4199. CN IN THE WIND P26 The 2022 Honda Monkey ABS now features the same engine that powers the new Grom, which means the Monkey now has a five-speed gearbox.
