IN THE WIND P32 Road Racer Killed T he European Talent Cup that serves as a feeder to the Mo- toGP series was rocked by the death of Hugo Millán at Aragon in Spain over the July 24-25 week- end. He was 14. The FIM released the follow- ing statement on the accident: "Following a serious incident in European Talent Cup Race One at the MotorLand Aragón Round of the FIM CEV Repsol, it is with great sadness that we report the passing of rider Hugo Millán. "Millán was involved in a multi-rider incident at turn five, with the session immediately red flagged. The Medical Interven- tion Vehicles arrived at the site immediately and the rider was attended to on track before being transferred to the Medical Centre at the Circuit. "Despite the best efforts of the circuit medical staff, the Medical Centre has announced that Mil- lán has sadly succumbed to his injuries. "The FIM, FIM Europe, Dorna and MotorLand Aragón Circuit pass on their deepest condo- lences to Millán's family, friends, team and loved ones." CN Fourteen-year-old Hugo Millán succumbed to injuries sustained in a crash in the Aragon round of the European Talent Cup. Ducati Releases Troy Bayliss Tribute Panigale V2 D ucati unveiled a rolling tribute to one of its favorite sons with Troy Bayliss getting his own model—the Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary. Resplendent in similar colors to those Bayliss won the 2001 WorldSBK crown with, the number-21 Panigale V2 comes with an Ohlins NIX30 fork and TTX36 shock, steering damper and a lithium-ion battery, 6.6 pounds lighter than the standard unit. There's also an embossed seat unit with Troy's #21 and Troy's autograph on the tank. The Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Champi- onship 20th Anniversary will be avail- able in U.S. Ducati dealers starting October 2021 at a dealer price of $21,000 USD. CN
