shadows. I saw it the last lap
because I was wondering what
happened. There was an edge,
and I caught it wrong, and it spit
me off. I almost hung onto it,
but it's too high-speed and too
much G-force, and I got out of
control."
Cooper would get back in
the race in eighth place, but
the chance to get a nice haul
of points on Jett Lawrence was
lost and made even worse when
Lawrence passed Hampshire
and went on to finish second.
Hampshire would end the moto
in third, with the impressive
Brown fourth, his 6-4 finishes
were good for fifth overall.
"This one feels good," Martin
said of the win.
"It's been a rough few races,
so this definitely boosts my con-
fidence a bit," said Lawrence.
"It's good to finally get a start. I
made a mistake on the first and
went back, but I was able to re-
cover from that and get second."
As for the points leader
Cooper, he took the mistake in
stride and focused on the bigger
picture, saying he was "disap-
pointed to let the overall go with
only a lap to go but so many
positives to take out of the day."
The next round on August 14
will be Unadilla, Justin Cooper's
home state of New York.
