Josh Hayes Scores Barber Double Win and Moves to Second in S

hat does it mean to the
rest of the AMA Superbike paddock that even
when Josh Hayes has an off
weekend he comes out smelling
like a rose?
Just ask Hayes' Monster Energy Yamaha teammate Josh Her-
rin, who watched Hayes score a
double win at Barber Motorsports
Park and move past him and into
second in the series standings.
Or ask Yoshimura Suzuki's Martin Cardenas, who looked over
his shoulder and saw his once
healthy lead in the series standings dwindle to a mere 10 points.
Herrin and Cardenas both know
that Hayes is now just a win or
two away from becoming the
championship leader and everyone knows how good Hayes is as
a frontrunner.
Ask Hayes and he'll tell you
that this wasn't one of his best
weekends. He didn't quite feel
up to speed when he hit the picturesque Barber circuit on Friday,
