tos, running one of Ryan Dungey's
old race engines. He grabbed a
point for 20th in the first moto, and
then dropped out late in moto two
after losing a lap to Dungey with five
laps to go. The 41-year-old is going
to need 24 more points somewhere
in the remaining seven rounds to
retain his AMA National number 3.
there," Villopoto said of his start
in moto one. "Rattray ended up
popping a huge wheelie out of
the gate and left the inside open.
So I shot over there in front of him
and was able to sneak around the
inside. And then also up around
the doubles [rollers], I got around
the inside and came out in the
lead there, right off the bat."

GEICO Honda's Wil Hahn returned to action at Budds Creek
after missing the first four rounds
with a fractured wrist suffered in
practice at the Las Vegas SX finale,
and he was immediately in the front
group. He grabbed the holeshot in
both motos, although he never officially led a lap, and finished with a
very solid 6-5 score for fifth overall.
In winning his 2013 250cc Eastern Regional Supercross Championship, according to the current
rules, Hahn will be forced to move
to the 450cc class in 2013, and he
knows he has to show his prospective teams something. However, at
this point, though, speculation in
the pits has him remaining at the
GEICO Honda team to race 450s
in 2014, as the team's contract
with GEICO does require a 450cc
presence at least in Supercross.
His teammate, Eli Tomac, will
also be moving up to the 450cc
class in 2014, and although Tomac
could end up on the GEICO Honda
CRF450R, he's in pretty high demand right now, and it sounds like
if he's going to stay on Hondas, it
will likely be alongside former GEICO Honda teammates Trey Canard
and Justin Barcia on Team Honda
Muscle Milk.
