>After taking on a fair amount of changes over the past couple of years, it

comes as little surprise that Kawasaki made little changes to it's latest edition
of KX250F and KX450F motocrossers. Of the two, the KX250F received the
most attention. Like the 450, the 2014 KX250F features Kawasaki's handlebarmounted Launch Control Mode. When activated, LCM alters mapping for the
starts, which ultimately allows you to grab a handful of throttle and go through
first and second gears without having to worry so much about throttle control.
Click into third gear and everything returns to normal. As we have learned
in the past with the 450, Launch Control Mode is extremely effective on dry,
hard-packed and slick surfaces. New modifications to the KX250F's shifting
mechanism, designed to smooth shifting under a load, should improve starting
performance, as well. New forward engine mounts have been modified for
rigidity to help improve front-end traction and control. Front suspension has
new settings for a plusher ride.
