CN III VOICES P18 LETTERS TO THE EDITOR "I'm too old to race, but not too old to read about it." Cross-Rutted I just read the article by Jean Turner in this week's Cycle News (Issue 24, June 18). I've always had the inkling to write just an essay, but sadly never have. My sister and I lost our dad 10 years ago and the thing that plays a major role in us keeping in touch is our love of motorcycles (both on and off road) - of course, inspired by our father Montie Duxbury. As I read, memories of rides across the desert floor and through twisty mountain roads flooded my mind and I couldn't wait to share this article with my sister. Thank you for the great piece! Steven Duxbury Pico Rivera, CA Bad TV This is such a frustrating TV season. I too am "No Fan of MX TV," as described by Elizabeth Beard (Voices, Issue 24, June 18). It's so hard to chase down all four motocross races, it's driving me crazy. And so much for World Superbike - it's all lost on my Cox cable programming. Anthony LaGrasta Via the Internet Good TV It boggles my mind how many fans of outdoor motocross are so negative to the TV package. It is amazing that you can watch all four motos live either on TV or online. Folks complain about having to change the channel to watch the second motos… really, is it that difficult? Have a problem with your TV provider not offering the channel? Simply go to your iPad or computer and watch. Want to watch some of practice? You can do that too! Can't watch live? Use your DVR - or the race archive is usually available Tuesday. I'm guessing the complainers are too young to remember when only a couple races were ever on TV - and sometimes months later. Thank you MX Sports for making the incredible TV package available. Grow up people and appreciate that motocross and supercross are televised at all. Joe Stanley Via the Internet Good TV II Not sure anybody has the right to complain about the amount of motorcycle racing that's currently on TV. Guessing they are too young to remember that there was a time when there was no motorcycle racing on TV – or very little. And if there was, it was months after the event took place. I can only speak for myself, but I don't have any problem finding what I want to watch on the weekends. Maybe I have to go to a different channel for the second motos of the motocross series, but who cares? And I like the AMA road races on CBS Sports Network. I guess I have nothing to complain about except I don't get World Superbike on my cable system. Oh, one more thing… it would be nice if I didn't have to wake up so early to watch MotoGP, but that's my problem not theirs. And then I have my Cycle News on a Monday night to wrap things up for me and tell me what really happened and why. Jake Smith Via the Internet Listings Kudos A big thumbs up! I really appreciate you maintaining the TV listings page on your website. Without it, it is impossible to find a motorcycle broadcast time. John McKain Bellevue, WA Never Too Old I love my Cycle News. I'm too old to race, but not too old to read about it. Many thanks.
