They left in their wake a big pileup that swallowed up both factory Honda riders, Roczen and Chase Sexton, as well as Joey Savatgy, and it almost brought down MOTOCROSS MYOWNRACE 45 PIERCE BROWN 20TH (15-DNF) 250MX Pierce Brown crashed in Spring Creek's notorious whoop sec on in moto one, and in the second moto he got speared by Je Lawrence a er he got to his feet a er crashing. "It was a tough day all-around," he said. "In the second moto, I was up front and moving forward a couple laps in and I collided with RJ Hampshire and as I was going to get my bike, I got hit by a couple riders. That was scary, my legs went flying behind my back and I hit my head. I wasn't really sure how I was, physically, so the Alpinestars Medics took me to the rig and went over everything to make sure I'm okay. Unfortunately, that was the end of my day. Health-wise, I'm a li le banged up but all good to go." 2 COOPER WEBB 15TH (6-DNF) 450MX Cooper Webb survived a scary crash in the second 450MX moto a er finishing sixth in the first moto. He and Chase Sexton tapped rear wheels when they scrubbed in opposite direc on while side by side over a jump. Sexton stayed up right but Webb went down. "It took me a while to get up and I'm glad I'm okay, just a li le sore," he said. "But the bike was super bent up, so I wasn't able to finish." (Right) Points leader Dylan Ferrandis was challenging Barcia for the first-moto win when the checkered flag came out. It wasn't Ferrandis' best day, but he still extended his championship lead. (Below) No wins for Eli Tomac at Spring Creek but he did capture second overall. (Below right) Second-moto winner Ken Roczen lost ground to Ferrandis in the 450MX Championship, but it could have been a lot worse after crashing out of the first moto.
