F
or the fourth time in five races, Monster Ener-
gy/Star Racing Yamaha rider Dylan Ferrandis
took the 450MX overall win with steady 1-3
moto finishes on the tricky Southwick circuit, now
known as The Wick 338.
And for the fifth time in five races there was a dif-
ferent 250MX winner in Lucas Oil Pro Motocross
as Team Honda's Hunter Lawrence earned his first
outdoor national win in America. The older of the
Lawrence brothers from Australia posted convinc-
ing 1-1 moto finishes.
When Ferrandis was asked if he was surprised
with his surge so far this summer and the possibil-
ity of a second straight Lucas Oil Pro Motocross ti-
tle, only this time in the 450 class, the Frenchman,
last year's 250MX Champion, answered, "Yes, I
am surprised, yes. I don't think about champion-
ships or winning races, I just take it race by race
and do the best I can do [and] see where I end up.
It is working great now, and I keep doing that."
