IRC Motoclimb Super Series
Gets Underway
L
ogan Cipala dominated the
opening round of the 2021
IRC Motoclimb Super Series
(MSS) held in at the Brick Mine
Hill in Ellsworth, Wisconsin,
Friday, July 2. The event was
hosted by the Eagle Ridge
Motorcycle Club and featured a
steep and loose 750-foot hill that
challenged the riders, with about
half the field not even making it
over the top.
Cipala, the 2019 IRC MSS
Champion, came into this new
season swinging, taking the wins
in both points-paying premier
classes. The Ellsworth, Wiscon-
sin resident won the 450cc main
on his GasGas MC450 and the
Open Class on his Buell 1190
HCR. He also won the 450cc
Qualifier and non-points 700cc
class earlier in the day, complet-
ing a clean sweep of the event.
The 2018 IRC MSS Champi-
on, Logan Mead, from Concord,
California, was close behind,
finishing second in both series
points classes, aboard his KTM
450 SX-F and KTM 1290.
Harold Waddell finished 3-6
in the points classes aboard his
Honda CRF450R and Suzuki
GSX-R 1340 to come out of the
opening event third overall.
The series continues next Satur-
day, July 10, at the Wiseco Shoot-
out in Bay City, Wisconsin.
